Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp have some big selection decisions to make ahead of the huge title clash between Manchester City and Liverpool.

Team selection could go a long way to deciding the outcome of a game which will in turn have a huge bearing on the destination of the Premier League trophy.

Former City midfielder Shaun Wright-Phillips appeared on the Kelly and Wrighty Show and said he thinks Ilkay Gundogan will get dropped for the huge game.

“I don’t think Gundo starts this game. I actually don’t think he will start,” he said.

“I think he could start Kevin but him beside Rodri a bit deeper, as it keeps him away from the press from the midfield and he can influence the game from a lot of places on the pitch.

“I think de Bruyne will play, Bernardo will play and Rodri will play. I think he’ll play those three. I don’t think Fernandinho is fit enough to play.”

Klopp was Gundogan’s manager at Borussia Dortmund before he joined City and in February last year, the Reds boss showered praise on his countryman.

He said: “Ilkay was one of the best players I ever coached. He was a very young player when he came to us from Nurnberg to Dortmund.

“Especially in the 2012 season he was unbelievable and played pretty much like he’s playing now. Then he unfortunately had some injuries, really tough injuries, but that’s now all sorted.

“It’s the longest period he could play football without getting interrupted, and I wish him really well that it can continue like this.”

Gundogan would add balance to the midfield and captained the side against Atletico Madrid in midweek, so it would be a big call to leave him out.
