Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter in anger after finding out that the club is charging supporters to watch Patrick Vieira’s first press conference.

What’s the story?

Well, it’s safe to say this is a terrible look for the Eagles.

There is plenty of positivity surrounding the south Londoners right now, and many excited fans were presumably keen to hear Vieira speak.

However, they were met with a shock after finding out that it would only be shown on the club’s new Palace TV+ service, which is a paid subscription.

This is awful from the Eagles. Of course, Crystal Palace are presumably trying to recoup some money after the financial impacts of COVID-19.

Having said that, the fanbase’s pockets were hit harder than those of a Premier League football club, who can boast millions to their name.

What’s the point in doing this?

In truth, this is an utterly pointless exercise.

Press conference quotes are written up and spread everywhere within seconds of the words being said.

Also, any funny moments from the actual event will undoubtedly be shared all over social media anyway, so what’s the point in paying to see it live?
