‘Wow’: Liverpool fans buzzing at Harvey Elliott injury update

Liverpool fans have woken up on Monday morning to some surprisingly good news about Harvey Elliott, with The Athletic reporting on his return from injury.

There were fears among many that Elliott might not return until next season when he suffered a serious injury against Leeds United earlier in the season. A grim looking ankle injury looked to the nightmare scenario for both Elliott and Liverpool. The young midfielder was just starting to settle into first-team football nicely.

However, The Athletic has reported this morning that Elliott could be back sooner than expected. Much sooner, in fact.

They claim that while there are a number of ‘hurdles’ for Elliott to get over yet, he could be given the green light to get back into the thick of things early in 2022. That could well see the youngster return for the key run-in towards the back end of the season.

And with such good news, it was only natural that Liverpool fans were all over Twitter giving their reactions. It’s safe to say that, while some are preaching caution, that Reds supporters are delighted to see their man coming back.
