It looked like Leeds were going to be making a good signing this summer transfer window but it has been hijacked by a Premier League club.
Leeds reportedly looked like they were going to sign defender Max Aarons this summer. Despite the deal being close, it will now not happen due to another club swooping in at the last minute.
Phil Hay from The Athletic has reported the latest on this surprising update. He said: “Wow – Leeds United had a deal in place for Max Aarons and the move was at the medical stage. But Bournemouth have stepped in at the last minute today and it now looks like he’ll be headed there instead.”
This will no doubt disappoint Daniel Farke, who managed Aarons at Norwich, massively. Sadly, the Championship club have not been able to fight off competition from Premier League club Bournemouth.

Leeds miss out on deal for Max Aarons
The English right-back has won the Championship on two separate occasions. He has also won the English Football League Young Player of the Year award.
This sort of experience and winning mentality in the Championship would have been huge for a Leeds side wanting to get straight back into the Premier League.
More so, the defender is only 23 years-old and no doubt has a high ceiling. You can see why he has attracted interest from the Premier League.
Now, Leeds will have to go back to the drawing board. It will be sad for them that this has happened but hopefully they have prepared and have a list of other potential defenders to sign.

The transfer window will always have some highs and lows for clubs and fans. This is not what Leeds needed to happen with the deal so close to being completed.
Aarons would have been a top signing but he probably does deserve to be playing football in England’s top flight next season.
