Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after Ivan Toney posted a tweet, following Brentford’s 2-0 win on Friday evening.

What’s the story?

Well, after starring for the Bees in their 2-0 win, Toney described playing Arsenal as a ‘nice kick about with the boys’ – wow.

The £5m striker’s tweet attracted plenty of attention from fans of various Premier League clubs, as it was taken as a sign of disrespect.

For a newly promoted side to turn up in the Premier League and beat Arsenal with ease was embarrassing enough for the Gunners.

Then, Toney’s tweet after full-time just rubbed salt in the wounds.

As WhoScored shows, the north Londoners only managed to hit the target with four of their 22 shots – it was a woeful display.

According to TEAMtalk, Toney was a target for Arsenal this summer.

If that’s true, then the 25-year-old showed Mikel Arteta what he’s missing with a dominant display for the Bees last night.

WhoScored shows that Toney won six aerial duels – more than any other player on the pitch.

Brentford’s No.17 also won four freekicks, again more than any other player on the pitch.

Despite his failure to score, it was a brilliant, hardworking performance up top that helped set the tone for Thomas Frank’s side.

A no-nonsense option like Toney, who can physically bully defenders, is just what Arteta needs.

Let’s see what the Arsenal fans on Twitter have been saying about the Brentford man’s tweet…
