Eden Hazard was lucky enough to play with some truly incredible players during his career.

From Kevin De Bruyne to Karim Benzema, Hazard played with some of modern football’s greatest during his time in the game.

However, as we all know, Hazard’s best football came at Chelsea, and speaking to Soccer Aid, he’s been building his dream five-a-side team made up of former Blues players.

Inevitably, Hazard picked the likes of Frank Lampard and Gianfranco Zola, but he also chose a player who only spent a few years at Stamford Bridge.

Indeed, Hazard picked Juan Mata in his dream team, claiming that he loved to play with the Spaniard during their fleeting time together in west London.

Eden Hazard praises Juan Mata

Hazard spoke highly of the Spaniard.

“I’m going to play with Juan Mata also. Magic left foot. Someone who will never miss control or miss a pass, so I enjoyed to play with him. We only played two years together, but wow, what a moment,” Hazard said.

Juan Mata was amazing

It’s a long time ago now, so it may be hard to remember, but during that final season at Chelsea, Mata was one of the best players in England.

Before his £37m move to Manchester United, the Spaniard was incredible for Chelsea. He was one of the most creative players in the country, and he also had an incredible eye for goal.

That Chelsea team that had Mata and Hazard was a joy to watch, and while they were a bit all over the place under Rafa Benitez, they still played some scintillating football.

Mata was a truly incredible player during his time at Chelsea, and he probably doesn’t get the credit he deserves for how good he was during his time at Stamford Bridge.
