West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to react after it was announced that Michail Antonio had won the Premier League Player of the Month award.

What’s the story?

Well, the 31-year-old has rightly been rewarded for his stunning start to the 2021/22 campaign.

In just three Premier League games so far, Antonio has scored four goals and also provided three assists as West Ham sit second in the table.

Seven goal involvements in just three games is absolutely superb.

Antonio started the campaign with a goal and an assist in the 4-2 win over Newcastle at St James’ Park.

The £7m man then went one better, grabbing two goals and another assist in a 4-1 win over Leicester at the London Stadium.

Lastly, against Crystal Palace, he assisted Pablo Fornals before finding the net himself as the Hammers drew 2-2 in east London.

David Moyes must manage Michail Antonio wisely

Evidently, West Ham have one of England’s best players on their hands at the moment.

However, the £70,000-a-week man is prone to injuries, something David Moyes must be very wary of.

Antonio missed 12 Premier League games last season due to injury – had he featured in those, West Ham could well be playing Champions League football this season.

To avoid another what-if scenario, Moyes must manage his No.9 carefully.

Whether that means benching him for Premier League games which come directly after Europa League clashes, or another form of treatment, remains to be seen, but Moyes must come up with a plan.

The Scot now has Nikola Vlasic to ease the burden on Antonio, as well as Said Benrahma and Jarrow Bowen, so there aren’t really any excuses.

For now, let’s see what the Arsenal fans on Twitter have been saying after Antonio’s award was announced…
