Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after watching footage of Oliver Skipp in training, ahead of schedule after an injury.

What’s the story?

Well, Spurs posted a 39-second video of the 20-year-old at Hotspur Way.

Skipp was forced to have surgery on a metatarsal fracture back in May, which looked set to rule him out until a few weeks into pre-season.

Now, however, the England Under-21 international is back in training, and looked in good shape judging by the club’s footage.

We see Tottenham’s academy graduate doing some strength and conditioning training with a coach, using the pads.

We can also see Skipp doing a bit of resistance training using an elastic band, before dribbling with the ball as well.

Breakthrough season for Oliver Skipp?

If we were in Nuno Espírito Santo’s shoes, we’d be using Skipp a lot this season.

The midfield maestro absolutely shone for Norwich last term during his season-long loan at Carrow Road.

Skipp started 44 Championship games under Daniel Farke, helping the Canaries earn promotion as champions of England’s second tier.

Yes, you might argue that Nuno already has Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, Giovani Lo Celso, Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko to call upon.

However, the latter duo haven’t really been good enough for a while now, so Skipp deserves to leapfrog them in the pecking order.

In our view, a midfield base of Højbjerg and Skipp would be extremely effective, and also good to watch.

For now, let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about the footage of Skipp…
