Alan Shearer has told the Premier League’s official website that Stuart Dallas was outstanding in Leeds United’s win over Manchester City at the weekend as he named the Northern Irishman in his Team of the Week.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side saved arguably their best performance this season for the game that mathematically guaranteed that they would be a Premier League club once again next year.

Leeds beat the soon-to-be champions 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium. But the result only tells part of the story.
Shortly after the Whites took the lead, Bielsa’s men were down to 10 men with Liam Cooper getting sent off.

Leeds sat back and soaked up pressure for the large majority of the second-half. But just when it appeared that City may become underdogs to get anything from the game, Ferran Torres managed to equalise for Pep Guardiola’s side.
At that stage, most Leeds fans may have been tempted to take a point if offered. However, the Whites had other ideas.
Dallas produced an amazing turn of pace in stoppage-time to latch onto Gjanni Alioski’s pass and beat Ederson for the winning goal.
Understandably, that moment sent the Leeds players into a frenzy. And the brace prompted Shearer to name Dallas in his Team of the Week.
“Wow. Outstanding. After helping to defend with 10 men for so long, he somehow still had the energy to run through and score the winner,” he told the Premier League website as he commented on Dallas’s display.
Diego Llorente was the other Leeds player to make Shearer’s side. Meanwhile, Bielsa was named as the side’s manager for overseeing the victory.
It is remarkable just how far Dallas has come. Two years ago, he was still trying to force his way into Bielsa’s side on a regular basis.
Since the start of last season, he has missed one league game. And he has done that while not having one defined role in the side.
