Arsenal midfielder Ben Sheaf is doing well for himself away from the Emirates Stadium on loan this season.
The Gunners academy ace, who has made two senior appearances for the North Londoners, sealed a switch to Championship side Coventry back in September.
To date, Sheaf has made 10 appearances in all competitions for the Sky Blues, including seven league starts and 90 minutes in the last six league games.
On Friday night, the 22-year-old helped his current side claim a shock 3-2 win over early pacesetters Reading, who had won seven and drawn one of their opening eight league games.
The Royals’ run came to an end in a five-goal thriller which saw Gustavo Hamer, Matt Godden and Sam McCallum score for the hosts, while Lucas Joao and George Puscas netted for the visitors.
Sheaf was deployed in a deep role and did well to break up Reading’s attacks, showing tenacity and passing the ball well, though he did make an error for one of the opposition’s goals.
That said, he still earned the Sky Sports Man of the Match award, with some impressive stats under his belt including one chance created, three interceptions, two clearances, one block and eight times he won back possession.

Here is what some Coventry fans on social media made of his performance:
I thought Sheaf was excellent tonite Dan u must of watched a different game mate – I’m pretty sure that post match he will get picked out for doing most things the coaching staff asked of him

I think he’s one of those that is quietly effective. Break things up, keep it moving. Nothing flashy but hugely important. Will continue to grow.

Also was critical of Shippers, he grew into the game a bit – he just needs to be a bit more physical in his challenges and he’ll get there slowly
Sheaf is also slowly silencing his critics one game at a time

Sheaf was immense. Near 10/10 performance before his silly dink which led to panic, then the equaliser. Having a tall lad that can play centre halve too as DM in this league is no bad thing. Defensively, he was brilliant
