‘Would’ve been a madness’: Arsenal fans react to reports they tried to sign Riqui Puig

Arsenal fans have been reacting today to the news that the Gunners tried and failed to sign Barcelona youngster, Riqui Puig, in the January window.

Per a report from the Express quoting respected journalist Fabrizio Romano, it is claimed Arsenal made a push to sign Puig at the beginning of January, with a loan to buy option on the table.

However, Barca apparently rejected the notion of a deal in the middle of the month. Instead, they chose to extend the contract of Puig, who is a highly-rated talent in the ranks at the Catalan club.

Arsenal fans, then, have been having their say on the matter on Twitter. The Gunners eventually signed Martin Odegaard, so it remains to be seen if they got the right end of the deal anyway.

Some Gunners supporters seemed surprised by the news on Puig, with social media full of differing opinions on the Barcelona man.
