It really looked as though Giovani Lo Celso was going to have a real rebirth at Tottenham this season.
The Argentine put together a very decent run of form towards the end of November when James Maddison was out injured, but he’s been unable to sustain that run and has recently suffered his own fitness issues.
So, what does the future hold for the South American?
Well, speaking on The Tottenham Way Podcast, Tom Allnutt has been discussing what this summer holds for Lo Celso, and he says that he wouldn’t be shocked if he did indeed leave the club and join a Spanish side come the end of the season.

Giovani Lo Celso could go this summer
Allnutt spoke about the £55m man.
“He still has a market in Spain, I think there are clubs that would love to have him. It wouldn’t surprise me if it was a loan with an obligation to buy. It is a shame because I like Lo Celso, but I suspect it will be the end this summer,” Allnutt said.
Unfortunate
It is a bit of a shame to see Lo Celso back in this situation.
It looked like he was going to have one final renaissance at Spurs earlier this season, and while that form promised much, he hasn’t really delivered on what he showed.
The talent is there, but he doesn’t suit Premier League football particularly well, and he would perhaps be better off in Spain where he has shone before in loan spells with Villarreal and Real Betis.
After so many attempts to make it work at Tottenham, it could be time for Lo Celso to call time on his Spurs career.
