A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have been praising Tariq Lamptey – and discussing him as a player they’d like to see at Spurs – following his display on Saturday.

The Brighton right-back was a constant thorn in Norwich’s side on Saturday as he caused problems down the right from start to finish en route to a 1-0 win at Carrow Road.

Lamptey’s efforts have gone a long way to helping the Seagulls pull themselves away from Premier League trouble since the restart.

Seven points from their four top-flight games after the restart – the 19-year-old featured in three of those – have put Brighton nine points clear of the bottom three.

With Spurs in desperate need of bolstering their ranks at right-back this summer, quite a few fans thought Lamptey would be a good candidate.

Lamptey joined Brighton from Chelsea in the January transfer window for a reported £4.5million on a contract until the summer of 2023.
