Michael Dawson

The defence needs to be strengthened and there aren’t too many options out there. Jamaal Lascelles has been very good towards the end of the season and he needs to be made central to any rebuild taking place.

Michael Dawson has been one of the best central defenders in the second tier, and he would provide the experience next to the youth of Lascelles.

He is strong in the air, and would add a degree of authority, with his ability to organise the back four. This is something Newcastle have been lacking for years.

Despite all of these advantages, Dawson will only be an option if Hull fail to return to the top flight at the first attempt through the play-offs.
