'Would rather go for Ings': Spurs fans discuss whether Carlos Vinicius should be signed

Spurs fans have been having their say this week on the future of Carlos Vinicius, after the striker once again bagged in the Europa League.

Vinicius’ goals against Wolfsberger ensured it’s now six in seven in the Europa League for the Brazilian loanee, while he’s also helped himself to three assists in the competition.

Life in the Premier League hasn’t been so kind for Vinicius, however. Playing second fiddle to Harry Kane, the striker has only been used six times by Jose Mourinho and even then, it’s been very sporadic.

However, the club must make a decision on Vinicius pretty soon. The striker is said to be available for Spurs to sign permanent on a £40m deal (BBC). But given the lack of PL action, it remains to be seen whether that’s something Daniel Levy will take up.

Spurs fans, then, have been discussing the potential of Vinicius on Twitter. And there’s a split consensus that while he might be a decent enough squad player, £40m might be just a bit too much given there’re other players out there.

He’s a good player, plays his style and strength well, only issue is that he’s probably not worth the big price tag. If he were 20-25mil he’d def be worth buying. If they bring his price down I’d keep him.

He’s an absolute fox in the box. Good old fashioned striker and his link up play is often good too. If he played 38 premier league games in a season he would have 15-20 goals and 5-10 assists.

The odd cameo role here and there isn’t enough for me to be able to form much of an opinion other than to ask the obvious question, why get a player to cover for Kane then not use him when cover is needed.
