Would Jordan Archer be a good recruit if Leeds United lose Kiko Casilla?

Leeds United are back on top of the Championship table but they might have a big problem coming their way.

It seems that goalkeeper Kiko Casilla could be facing a ban from the FA over the use of racist language aimed at Charlton Athletic forward Jonathan Leko. That is according to the Daily Mail, who suggest the Spanish stopper could face a 12-match ban.

If that happens, Leeds will have just unproven youngsters Ilan Meslier and Kamil Miazek at their disposal.

So should they make a move for a proven Championship goalkeeper who is currently a free agent?

Jordan Archer played 27 times in the Championship for Millwall last season but has still not been picked up by any clubs since his contract expired.

The Scotland international is, according to the Daily Mail, training with Aston Villa as he looks for a new club so will be in good shape.

Aston Villa would be a strange move for the player, considering their gluttony of goalkeeping options, but Leeds could now be a perfect place for him to play his football.

Leeds, of course, could have faith in French loanee Meslier or their Polish youngster Miazek. But neither have the experience in Championship football that Archer could offer the West Yorkshire side.

Surely a short-term deal could be a good move from Leeds.
