‘Would do everything possible’… Manchester United are interested in ‘underrated’ player Tottenham sold

Manchester United ‘would do everything possible’ to sign Harry Kane if he became available, just a year after he left Tottenham Hotspur.

The Red Devils are expected to have a busy summer window. They need reinforcements in multiple areas of the pitch, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe‘s arrival has raised the excitement levels. Kane is still reportedly on Manchester United‘s radar.

Manchester United still have an interest in Harry Kane

Harry Kane left Tottenham Hotspur and joined Bayern Munich last summer.

The Englishman, branded as ‘very underrated‘ by Jose Enrique on Instagram Stories in June 2022, was one of the best strikers in the Premier League during his time at Spurs. He was unbelievable for them, and every big club in the world would’ve loved to sign him last year.

Bayern Munich won the race for his signature in the end, and the former Tottenham man has been absolutely outstanding in Germany.

Kane has scored 36 goals and provided 11 assists in just 34 appearances in all competitions this season.

To put that into perspective, Manchester United’s entire squad have managed just three more goals (39) in the Premier League so far this term.

That’s probably why Sir Jim Ratcliffe has an eye on Kane, and Ben Jacobs has claimed that if the Englishman would become available, Manchester United ‘would do everything’ to sign him.

However, as things stand, that is extremely unlikely.

Jacobs told GiveMeSport: “If United are going to sign a striker, then Kane is as good as it gets. So we know there’s admiration for him and they do still hold some interest.

“At the moment, I wouldn’t have huge expectations around it. If Kane is genuinely unsettled, as some reports have suggested, and he wants to return to England, then you have to make sure you’re in the loop as to is it possible to sign him, and Man Utd will do that.

“But let’s face it, there is very little sign at the moment of Man United signing a player for mega money. So even if his situation does start to open up, it’s still going to be difficult to sign him. They would do everything possible to make it happen if they saw potential, but it’s hugely difficult to do.”

Tottenham could ruin Manchester United’s chances

It’s no surprise that Manchester United would love to sign Harry Kane this summer, but Daniel Levy is a smart man, and he could ruin their hopes.

When Spurs sold Kane to Bayern Munich last summer, Levy negotiated a clause that would give Tottenham first refusal on Kane if he ever becomes available.

That means if an English club, say Manchester United, table a bid for Kane and Bayern accept that offer, Spurs will be notified and given the chance to match that (Sky Sports).

That further reduces Manchester United’s chance of signing Kane – either this summer or in the coming years.
