‘Would be amazing for the club’ – Newcastle fans react as club are reportedly offered Philippe Coutinho

Newcastle have been offered the chance to sign Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona, according to a report from Goal, and their fans have been reacting to the news on social media.

In the latest twist in the long-running saga surrounding the Brazilian ace, Goal now claims that Barca have moved to offer the former Liverpool man to both Arsenal and Newcastle.

It comes as the La Liga giants seek to offload a number of players this summer to fund their own rebuild. The Catalan club are thought to be keen on signing Lautaro Martinez and see the sale of Coutinho as imperative to being able to afford such a deal.

This latest update, though, is the first bit of concrete news which seems to suggest Barca are actively looking to shift Coutinho on as quickly as possible.

And Newcastle fans seemed to be loving the news on Twitter, with a number of the Toon Army taking time out to have their say on the potential deal.

It appears – judging by these reactions – that Newcastle fans would love to see the club sign Coutinho if they can!
