Celtic cult hero Erik Sviatchenko has issued a message to the Bhoys fanbase saying how proud he is to have played in the green and white hoops and how he dreams of a return to Parkhead one day.
The Denmark international joined Celtic in January 2016 and spent two years with the Hoops, helping them win the title that year and the domestic treble the following season.
In January 2018, then Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers deemed Sviatchenko surplus to requirements and allowed him to rejoin his former club FC Midtjylland on loan.
After winning the Danish Superligaen title with the Jutland outfit, the 28-year-old’s loan was made permanent for a fee deemed by the Daily Record to have been £1 million.

Despite having been away from Celtic for over two years, Sviatchenko remains loved by the Hoops fanbase, and the feeling is more than mutual.
In conversation with the Celtic Star, the defender said: “I’ll always be listening and looking out for Celtic.
“In my dreams, it would be amazing to one day play at Celtic Park again. Whether it’s going to be as a Midtjylland player, a Celtic player or even for a third club, you never know.
“No-one knows what happens in football. Let’s just see what happens in future. For now, I’m just proud to have been a big part of that great club!”
TBR View:
There could hardly be more of a contrast between what Celtic fans think of Sviatchenko and what they think of the man who offloaded him – indeed, many wouldn’t mind the Dane coming back to Parkhead.
Of course, it’s easier said than done – would Midtjylland relinquish him? Would Neil Lennon want him and have use for him in his squad?
In the meantime, it’s great to see such a continued love and respect between a former player and the fans.
