The January transfer window is open, and that means that countless rumours about Manchester United are doing the rounds.
The Red Devils are, once again, being linked with almost every player under the sun, and one audacious rumour that has emerged recently is a link to Thomas Muller.
The German has been a one-club man throughout his entire career so far, but according to The Athletic, United have looked at him.
Speaking on The Done Deal Show, Ben Jacobs has now shared his verdict on this rumour, and he says that he can’t see this one going ahead, claiming that it would be a massive shock if Muller moved to Manchester United now.

Jacobs would be stunned if United signed Muller
The journalist shared his verdict on the ‘extraordinary’ player.
“I’ve seen some people throw Thomas Muller into the mix which would be a massive surprise, you’re not getting an out and out goalscorer there, but you’re getting a player with huge personality and a lot of experience. I don’t think that’s the right profile for Manchester United even in the short term, and he’s signed a new deal anyway, so I can’t believe anything will happen there either,” Jacobs said.
No chance
Some rumours in transfer season seem a bit left-field, but this one is almost bordering on insanity.
Muller is the ultimate one-club man. His nickname is Mr Bayern Munich, he’s still a key player for Thomas Tuchel’s side, and Bayern are very much in the Champions League mix this season.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are a bit of a mess at the moment, and it’s hard to imagine that Muller would decide to end his incredible time with Bayern Munich to join a team that almost look destined for a mid-table Premier League finish this season.
As Jacobs says, this would be the shock of all shocks if this one were to happen.
