“Would be a great buy”: Everton fans react to links with 22-year-old attacker

Everton are being linked with Josip Brekalo at German club Wolfsburg – and some Toffees fans on Twitter have responded by claiming he would be a superb addition at Goodison Park next season.

According to the Express, Everton are among a host of clubs monitoring the 22-year-old due to his performances this season in the Bundesliga.

It is understood that Leeds United, Napoli and Bayern Munich are some of the others tracking the attacker.

The report adds that Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton are keen this summer to bring in some extra quality in wide areas, so have been closely eyeing the Wolfsburg winger this year.

Brekalo has been an important player this season for Wolfsburg, scoring seven goals and setting up four assists across all competitions.

He’s a quick forward comfortable on either wing, and he’s already earned 22 senior international caps for Croatia.

A selection of Everton fans on social media believe the skilful youngster could add some much-needed firepower for them in the wide areas next season, as it’s definitely an area of the squad lacking in real depth.

If Ancelotti’s side finish the season strongly in their remaining Premier League games, there is a good chance they could be able to tempt transfer targets to the club with the offer of European football next year.
