‘Worst window ever’: Some Arsenal fans gutted over report from Liverpool

Liverpool have enquired about reported Arsenal target Yves Bissouma, according to The Express.

The Gunners have been linked with the Brighton ace for most of the year but there hasn’t been much progress on that front.

Football.london claimed in January that Arsenal had made contact with the Brighton star’s representatives.

The same outlet reported in June that the 24-year-old had instructed his agent to try and get him to the Emirates.

But now, it looks as though Liverpool have got the ball rolling with regards to the talented midfielder.

Jurgen Klopp has apparently had Bissouma on his radar for quite some time as well.

And with just a few days left of the transfer window, The Express claims Liverpool have made an official enquiry.

The Reds were left reeling from the loss of Georginio Wijnaldum to a free transfer and subsequent move to PSG.

Therefore, they could do with bolstering their midfield ranks, and the £40million Seagulls ace would certainly be a great shout.

This latest report has left some Arsenal fans gutted, however:

Bissouma looked a cut above for the Seagulls last season, showing quality and consistency throughout.

He made 39 appearances in all competitions, of which 36 came in the Premier League.

Bissouma’s Whoscored ratings for 2020-21 are impressive – 7.01 from 31 appearances in CM and 6.99 from four at DMC.

One of the Malian’s displays, in the 0-0 draw with Everton in April, prompted Gary Lineker to call him “exceptional“.
