Worrying Eberechi Eze update emerges for Arsenal fans after Andrea Berta held talks with his agents

The latest update around Eberechi Eze’s potential move to Arsenal suggests that it might not happen at this moment in time.

Mikel Arteta has been keen to sign Eberechi Eze this summer in a bid to complete his forward line at the Emirates Stadium.

Fabrizio Romano revealed earlier this month that Andrea Berta held talks with Eze’s agents about a move to North London.

However, at this stage, the England international looks unlikely to make the move, and most of the noise suggests it might not happen.

Eberechi Eze to Arsenal starting to look unlikely at this stage

At this moment in time, Eberechi Eze’s potential move to Arsenal doesn’t appear to be advancing in a positive direction, Sam Dean has revealed.

The journalist from The Telegraph claims that everything he is hearing about the deal is making him doubt that the 27-year-old will end up at the Emirates Stadium.

Eze, who has a £68m release clause, has been linked with moves to the Gunners, Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich, but it remains uncertain that he’ll get his move.

Dean told Latte Firm: “I’ve not heard anything really to suggest in the past few weeks that this is advancing in a positive direction for Eze to Arsenal.

“For what it’s worth, I think he just screams pure Arsenal to me, he is what they need for so many of those games against deep blocks – I’d love to see him in an Arsenal shirt.

“But everything I’ve been told, for pretty much throughout this summer, has made me really doubt that it’s possible.

“That was the case last summer. I wonder if clubs are seeing something we’re not as fans and people who watch the game, who see the skills, the passing and the goal scoring.

“I hope that’s not the case. But as it stands, I’m pretty lacking in confidence that this move will happen.”

After Noni Madueke, Arsenal were expected to try for Eze as they looked for a versatile forward who could play both centrally and out on the left.

The North London club could move on to other options, and there appears to be a younger target they are currently assessing.

Arsenal monitoring Xavi Simons, but Chelsea most advanced

Arsenal are believed to be monitoring the situation of Xavi Simons at RB Leipzig, but Chelsea are currently the club most advanced in talks.

The 22-year-old is keen to leave the German club this summer, and a move to the Premier League appears to be on the cards.

The Blues hold a strong interest in the Dutch international, with talks between them and the player’s camp having already started.

Bayern Munich are also keeping tabs on the situation, so this could prove to be a tricky deal for the Gunners.
