Gabriel Agbonlahor has admitted he thinks Aston Villa should be ‘worried’ after Newcastle United crashed out of the Champions League last night.
The former Aston Villa captain believes Newcastle will be ‘at it’ in the Premier League following an early exit from Europe.
Unai Emery’s side are flying high at the moment as they currently make up the top three, behind Liverpool and Arsenal.

Villa have picked up statement wins over the likes of Tottenham, Manchester City and Arsenal in recent weeks.
It’s led to suggestions that Emery’s side could mount a surprise assault on the Premier League title. But Gabriel Agbonlahor feels they should still be looking over their shoulders in the race for Champions League qualification.
Agbonlahor thinks Aston Villa should be worried after Newcastle’s Champions League exit
“I’m quite worried as an Aston Villa fan that Newcastle are out,” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT. “They are going to be having talks now as players and management like ‘let’s go and do that again’.
“Let’s get into the top four, we want that again. We want that feeling of playing in the Champions League. They are going to be at it now, until the end of the season.”

The Villains currently sit five points clear of fifth-placed Tottenham and nine above Newcastle.
While the Magpies’ exit from Europe should benefit their league form, Villa shouldn’t be looking over their shoulders at this stage in the campaign.
Emery’s men have been in exceptional form and will just have to take each game as it comes for the time being. Villa look like contenders at this stage as they have beaten some of the best sides in the league in recent weeks.
It’s set to be an intriguing battle for the top places in the Premier League this term and Villa have proven they are among the best in the division on current form.
