A number of Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to praise Jonjo Shelvey for his impressive display in the Premier League on Wednesday night.
Steve Bruce’s Magpies went to Bournemouth hoping to put the FA Cup loss to Manchester City behind them and continue their good run in the league post-restart.
It didn’t take Newcastle long to break the deadlock on the south coast, with Dwight Gayle making the most of Jefferson Lerma’s effort to open the scoring in the first minute.

Sean Longstaff then doubled the Magpies’ lead on the half-hour mark and, although the Cherries hit the woodwork twice in the second half, Miguel Almiron made it three on 57 minutes.
Newcastle added a fourth 13 minutes from time through Valentino Lazaro, who finished after being slipped through by Shelvey, and the Magpies could have easily netted more thereafter.
Although the hosts netted a consolation late on, it was still a job very well done by the Magpies.
Shelvey pulled the strings in midfield for Newcastle and picked holes in the Bournemouth defence time and time again, registering 60 touches and 47 passes in total.
