The January transfer window is now open, and one team that may need to be active is Tottenham Hotspur.
The north London club are in a great position right now sitting just three points off the top of the Premier League table, but this month may well prove to be difficult for Ange Postecoglou’s side.
Indeed, Spurs are about to lose three key players to international competitions.
Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma are set to head off to the African Cup of Nations, while Heung-Min Son is set to head off to the Asian Cup.
Speaking on Sky Sports (31/12/23 1:23PM), Clinton Morrison has been discussing Son’s impending absence from this Tottenham squad and he says that the South Korean is a player that Spurs really won’t be able to replace.

Son is irreplaceable
Morrison gave his verdict on the £22m man.
“You need Maddison back sooner than later. Van de Ven isn’t a million miles away, any team in the world would miss Son, Son is world-class. Son is an outstanding footballer, you can’t replace Son, but what you can do, you can have everyone contribute,” Morrison said.
Son is incredible
This is the danger of having a player like Son who is so important to your team.
Of course, it’s amazing to have a footballer this talented in your squad, but, at the same time, having one player who scores a high percentage of your goals is detrimental when they’re not available for selection.
How will Tottenham cope without Son? Well, the fact that Richarlison has suddenly found his shooting boots helps matters, while the return of Manor Solomon in the coming weeks should also help their attacking prospects.
Son is a player that is tough to replace, but given how attacking this Spurs side are, there should still be plenty of goals in this team in Son’s absence.
