‘World-class’…Ange Postecoglou says one of his Tottenham players makes things look so easy

Tottenham Hotspur just about got over the line today as they saw off Brighton with the latest of late shows in North London.

Brennan Johnson’s dramatic injury time winner was yet another late goal to add to the catalogue this season. The former Nottingham Forest man got on the end of a fine ball from Heung-Min Son to tuck away and send the home fans into raptures.

Of course, Son’s return this week from the Asia Cup has proven timely and he was able to come off the bench to make an impact against the Seagulls today.

And speaking about his captain, manager Ange Postecoglou has said that the assist Son produced was only made to look so easy because of his forward’s quality.

“It’s fair to say that we are still a work in progress but we had a world class player in Son [Heung-min], who makes the most difficult ball look simple to set up Brennan [Johnson]. Going into the game we looked at the squad and knew we had the ability to change it up. It’s fair to say that held up,” Postecoglou said.

Son continues to shine for Tottenham

When you think back now and look at the £22m Tottenham paid for Heung-Min Son, you have to say it will go down as one of the best buys in Premier League history.

Sure, he might not have the trophies to go alongside his talent and goalscoring feats. But in the main, he has been nothing short of sensational since signing.

Son is relishing his role as captain as well and since Harry Kane left, he really has taken up the mantle as being the main man at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

Today, he was eased back into the action but as Ange says here, he showed his brilliance with one moment of magic to win the game.

Son, then, is going to vital for Tottenham if they are to finish in the top four.
