In an interview with L’Equipe, Olivier Ntcham has expressed his desire to move on from Celtic this summer.

The 23-year-old midfielder has been with the Bhoys since 2017. In his time in Glasgow, the young Frenchman has racked up plenty of silverware, including two Scottish Premiership titles. In his first campaign at Celtic Park, Ntcham flourished. Over the course of the season he was a regular starter and managed 5 league goals.

Last season, however, he struggled to have as great an impact. He featured only 16 times in the league and chipped in with just 3 goals.

Considering his own struggles and declining form then, it is surprising that the France under-21 international said to L’Equipe of his situation with Celtic, “leaving is the best solution for me to progress”, as translated by Get French Football News.

Ntcham continued to state, “I have played with players who have less quality than me and who are today in top clubs”. When asked where he would like to see his career go next, he replied, “a big league: Germany, France, Spain. To come back to France would be a very, very good thing.”

The midfielder has made it clear that he sees his future away from the Hoops. He may well get his wish this summer.

Following these comments, plenty of Celtic fans took to Twitter to give their thoughts on Ntcham’s situation at the club.
