Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to react after Adam Armstrong extracted revenge on Rafa Benitez at Goodison Park earlier today.
What’s the story?
Well, as you’ll probably know, it was Benitez who sold Armstrong to Blackburn when many Newcastle fans were calling for him to be given a chance.
Now, following a £15m move to Southampton, the 24-year-old made the Spaniard look silly after opening the scoring in the 22nd minute.
Unfortunately for Armstrong, his goal meant nothing as Everton rallied back to win 3-1 on Merseyside.
However, plenty of Newcastle fans have been sparked into a discussion after watching Armstrong get one over on Benitez with his goal.
Adam Armstrong should be a Newcastle player

In truth, Benitez should never have sold Armstrong.
The diminutive forward had excited the St James’ Park faithful after scoring 20 goals in 40 appearances while on loan at Coventry.
Even if we were to defend Benitez’s decision, it was still criminal that a buyback clause wasn’t included.

Crystal Palace were rivalling Southampton for Armstrong’s signature, but it should’ve been the Magpies who were right in the thick of the transfer action.
Imagine a strike force of him and Callum Wilson – the pair would’ve complimented each other superbly, with Allan Saint-Maximin providing the goods.
Nevertheless, let’s see how the Newcastle fans on Twitter reacted to the 22nd minute moment at Goodison Park…
