Wolverhampton Wanderers can prove to everyone just how ambitious they are by staving off Juventus’ supposed interest in Ruben Neves.

According to Tuttosport, the Old Lady are interested in the Portuguese playmaker and may swoop in January.

Neves has been with Wolves since the summer of 2017 and has emerged as hot property after impressing in the Championship and the Premier League.

The £15.8 million capture from FC Porto (BBC Sport) has caught the eye with his brilliant passing range and long distance shooting ability.

He hasn’t been in English football for long but already it seems that he will be targeted in the coming transfer windows.

Juve are supposedly ready to test the waters, and Wolves can show they mean business by standing firm.

Wolves have the chance to prove their ambition

Wolves have been an impressive force ever since they were taken over by Chinese investment group Fosun International in 2016.

The investment for new players has been there, and there is a real feeling within the club that Europe could be achievable within a few seasons.

Neves has arguably been the best signing of the Fosun era, and it’s important for the club to do everything in their power to keep their prized asset.

A move to Juventus is surely a big temptation for anyone, especially when your own agent is Jorge Mendes, who also represents Bianconeri talisman Cristiano Ronaldo.

If Wolves can keep hold of Neves in the face of Juventus’ interest, and others for that matter, they will show everyone they genuinely mean business.
