Wolves teenager Ryan Giles underlines his talent in EFL Trophy

Ryan Giles could be the next talented Wolves youngster to break into the first-team.

Many Wolves fans hold high hopes for Giles and he could follow Morgan Gibbs-White into the first-team set-up at some point in the near future.

The young winger had a day to remember on Tuesday.

He started the day by signing a new contract with the club he has been at for more than 10 years. To underline just how highly he is rated by Wolves, they rewarded Giles with a four-year deal.

And then Giles had to forget all about these off-the-field distractions to deliver a performance in the EFL Trophy.

The 18-year-old did not disappoint, scoring a fantastic goal to level the game at 2-2 against Lincoln City.

 

Giles’ all-round performance was impressive, although he was brought back down the earth when he missed in the penalty shoot-out after the game.

Nonetheless, there is no doubting that the talented teenager has the potential to push for the senior squad soon.

Giles is yet to make his senior bow in gold and black but a first-team promotion cannot be far away if he keeps up this level of performance.

After winning last season’s Academy Player of the Year accolade, Giles is going from strength to strength.
