Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly have an interest in signing Real Betis midfielder Victor Camarasa, who spent the 2018/19 season on loan with Cardiff City.

According to the Daily Mail, the West Midlands club and West Ham are both keen on signing the 24-year-old in the summer.

It is understood that La Liga club Betis now need to decided whether they want to loan their Spaniard out again or look for a permanent exit.

The report details that there will be significant Premier League interest in him, with Brighton and Everton also eyeing a potential swoop.

Camarasa may have suffered relegation during his loan stint with Cardiff, but it was a decent individual season and he looked quite the talent in England’s top flight.

The central midfielder made 33 appearances across all competitions for the Bluebirds, scoring five goals and supplying four assists in return.

Wolves certainly need fresh recruits going into next year, as manager Nuno Espirito Santo has quite a thin squad at Molineux.

His team finished seventh in the Premier League this season and that means that they will have European football next year.

They should have a real chance of going deep in the Europa League given their quality and it’s an exciting prospect for supporters.

Camarasa will provide a much-needed option in the centre of the park to rotate alongside the likes of Joao Moutinho, Ruben Neves, Morgan Gibbs-White, Leander Dendoncker and Romain Saiss.

He’s shown at Cardiff he’s a technical player that is good on the ball and may be a strong fit for Wolves if they win the race to sign him.
