Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly eyeing defender Gianluca Mancini from Italian club Atalanta.

According to Calciomercato, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are one of several teams interested in the in-demand enforcer.

It is understood that Everton, Fulham and Bayern Munich have also cast an eye over the 22-year-old centre-back due to his impressive form in Serie A.

Mancini is a promising young Italian defender that could be brilliant for Nuno’s side and add some serious competition for the three-man defence.

Wolves are lacking senior options in their backline and adding someone else would be advised.

Mancini could be perfect for Wolves in the Premier League and it looks like Molineux could be the ideal fit considering his style.

He is a confident centre-back that is good on the ball and can dribbling into midfield, which is why a possession-based game under Nuno should be ideal.

The no-nonsense enforcer is also a brute in the air and the physicality of the Premier League looks a match made in heaven.

Mancini has remarkably scored six goals in 18 games this season across all competitions and his extra threat in the box would be a nice bonus.

Wolves want to ensure they add real quality if they are to bring in new signings and Atalanta’s ace has immense potential to become a top player.
