Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly interested in signing Atletico Madrid defender Santiago Arias with the Colombian defender expected to leave, but they face Premier League competition – and Wolves supporters have responded on Twitter.
Arias, 28, has fallen down the pecking order under Diego Simeone since the Argentine brought Kieran Trippier to the La Liga side from Tottenham last summer. Sime Vrsaljko has also kept Arias out of the Atletico side of late.
The 53-time Colombia international was a crucial member of the PSV Eindhoven side before his move to Atleti – scoring 10 and creating 21 more goals in 172 appearances for the Dutch side. Now, a move to England is on the cards.

Caracol claim Everton are set to make an offer for Arias this summer, which could see Everton land their third Colombian – with Yerry Mina and James Rodriguez already in the squad. But Newcastle and Wolves are also interested.
Wolves have sold Matt Doherty to Tottenham Hotspur and are likely to be on the lookout for a new right-sided defender. Arias could be the ideal addition, and replacement for Doherty, given his ability to attack from right-back.
Wolves supporters have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that they are considering Arias but must beat Everton and Newcastle to the player’s signature – and many Wolves fans think their side can do better.
