Wolverhampton Wanderers are the latest Premier League club to be linked with a move for Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles – and Wolves supporters have reacted on Twitter to the reported news.

Sky Sports claim that Wolves are interested in the 23-year-old, who is naturally a midfielder but can play in numerous positions. He clocked up his 100th Arsenal outing in the FA Cup final against Chelsea.

Maitland-Niles is naturally a midfielder but was initially used by Unai Emery at right-back during the early stages of the 2019-20 season. Following Hector Bellerin’s return from injury, Maitland-Niles was used sparingly in midfield.

Towards the end of the season, after the restart, the England Under-21 ace was used as a left wing-back in front of a back three. It could be that recent usage of Maitland-Niles that has attracted Wolves.

The Midlands side have lost left-back Jonny to a long-term knee injury and Maitland-Niles could be brought in, with the Mail claiming Arsenal are willing to listen to offers of £20million for the versatile ace.

Wolves supporters have responded on Twitter to the reported news that their club are considering a move for Arsenal’s Maitland-Niles – and many are all for the addition of the utility Gunners ace.

Some though, do not think Mikel Arteta would let him go.
