Wolverhampton Wanderers wonderkid Morgan Gibbs-White has congratulated Aston Villa loanee Kortney Hause after the defender scored his first goal for Villa against Nottingham Forest.
Hause, 23, left Wolves to join Midlands rivals Wolves on loan in January to solve Villa’s defensive woes. He has been impressive for Dean Smith’s side, and continued that momentum with his first goal for the club on Wednesday night.
Jack Colback gave Forest the lead with what looked like a cross in the third minute, but John McGinn equalised just four minutes later. McGinn cut inside and smashed home Villa’s equaliser.
McGinn doubled his and Villa’s tally with a low strike from 25 yards out, before Hause wrapped up the win by getting on the end of a Conor Hourihane free kick. Gibbs-White congratulated Hause on Twitter.
TBR’s view
Hause has been excellent for Villa. Nine games, one goal and has helped his team keep two clean sheets. He has been used at left-back and at centre-back.
There is a permanent clause in his loan deal and if he continues to play the way he has, Villa will surely sign him permanently. He is certainly showing Wolves, perhaps, that he deserved more of a chance.
