Wolves should plot a move for Juventus defender Medhi Benatia to bolster defence

Wolverhampton Wanderers are enjoying a great return to the top flight and are in contention to finish in the European spots if they have a strong second half of the season in the Premier League.

Manager Nuno Espirito Santo could perhaps do with a couple of new recruits to help them keep up momentum and an extra defensive option would be smart.

Willy Boly, Conor Coady, Leander Dendoncker and Ryan Bennett are the four main senior options that can slot into the three-man defence.

Wolves have been quite fortunate with injuries so far this season at Molineux and bringing in an extra centre-back would help them out a great deal.

One man that should crop up on their radar is Juventus defender Medhi Benatia.

According to Calciomercato, Benatia is keen for a move away from Juventus after struggling for minutes this season.

It is understood that the 31-year-old has already attracted several interested suitors and Juventus want to bring in a replacement first if he is to be offloaded.

He is an experienced centre-back that would be ideal for Wolves and could even strengthen their backline.

Benatia has made just six senior appearances so far this campaign for Juventus, with one of them coming in the Champions League.

But the Morocco international has proven during his time with the Serie A giants that he’s a no-nonsense defender that can play at the highest level.

He reads the game well and is strong in possession, which is why he could slot in perfectly under Nuno.
