Wolverhampton Wanderers should think about offering Southampton’s Manolo Gabbiadini an escape route in January.
The 26-year-old has endured a relatively miserable time at St. Mary’s Stadium, despite it looking like he could become a top Premier League striker upon first joining the club in January 2017.

The Italian, signed by the Saints for £15 million (The Guardian), got off to a flying start in English football, scoring goals in the Premier League, as well as hitting a brace against Manchester United in the League Cup final.
He looked like a deadly finisher, but he quickly lost his way on the south coast.
Claude Puel, the man who signed Gabbiadini, gradually phased him out of the team, and Mauricio Pellegrino didn’t fancy him either.

Under Mark Hughes it’s been pretty much the same story, with Shane Long, Danny Ings and Charlie Austin the preferred strikers.
Wolves should rescue Gabbiadini
With Nuno Espirito Santo wanting to sign another striker in January as recently reported by The Telegraph, he should look no further than Gabbiadini.
Raul Jimenez is in need of some competition and also someone to share the burden.

Gabbiadini arguably poses more of a goal threat than the Mexican, and the Italian could help increase the attacking output a bit.
He was handed a rare start by Hughes against Watford last weekend and scored his first goal of the season.
There is undoubtedly a player in there, and Wolves should seek to offer him the escape route he really does need.
