Wolves are eyeing up two deadline day deals for young talents Danny Loader and Meritan Shabani, according to Sky Sports’ Live Blog, on 8 August.

At 9:00 am, the blog reported that the Old Gold want Bayern Munich midfielder Shabani, who has made one appearance for the club and is expected to go into their Under 23 side.

And at 9:11 am, it said that they are in negotiations with Reading over a move for young English hitman Loader, who had something of a breakthrough season last term.

Both players apparently have one year left on their respective contracts and Loader is reportedly highly sought after, with Goal reporting in May that Juventus, Chelsea and Arsenal were among the clubs keen.

Wolves have so far spent big sums on more established talent, because they are in a hurry to realise the grand ambitions of the club.

But three years down the line, it’s prudent to invest in the next generation of the club and both Loader and Shabani’s contract situations potentially mean that bargain situations have presented themselves to snap up young talent.

Loader made waves in the Championship last season, while you don’t get to make an appearance for Bayern Munich’s senior team, as Shabani has, without having serious talent.
