Wolves need to recall Romain Saiss against Liverpool

Wolverhampton Wanderers host Liverpool on Friday night in the Premier League and will be trying to pick up their biggest scalp of the season so far.

The West Midlands club are up to seventh in the league table after three consecutive wins, but are preparing to face leaders Liverpool who are still unbeaten.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have already pulled off some Molineux shocks this campaign, with a draw against Manchester City and a memorable victory over Chelsea.

They are sticking by an eye-catching attacking philosophy under Nuno, which saw them romp to Championship promotion last season.

But they will need to dig in to get anything out of the Liverpool fixture and that should mean adding an extra midfielder to the centre of the park for protection.

Wolves should recall enforcer Romain Saiss to the starting XI after he was unfortunate to be dropped for the win over Bournemouth at the weekend.

Saiss has come back into the fold in recent weeks with some starts and proven that he can make a positive impact in the top flight.

The 28-year-old is a defensive midfielder that has a no-nonsense approach and Wolves could do with him putting his body on the line against a relentless Liverpool attack.

The hosts will have to survive a barrage of attacks, but Saiss will help provide extra cover in front of the defence and allow Wolves to launch their own counter attacks.
