Wolves must learn from first Shrewsbury game & start Jimenez up front tonight

Wolves have a chance to qualify for the fifth round of the FA Cup tonight when they host League One outfit Shrewsbury Town at Molineux tonight.

Nuno Santo’s side were exceptionally lucky to set up tonight’s fourth round replay in the first instance; they struggled badly in last month’s initial clash and only a stoppage time Matt Doherty equaliser spared their blushes.

As one of only a handful of Premier League clubs still in the cup – and in no immediate danger of relegation – Wolves have a real opportunity to attack the competition.

And to Santo’s credit, he didn’t make a ridiculous amount of changes for that first match, but he did go without his main striker Raul Jimenez.

And after Leo Bonatini’s departure to join Nottingham Forest on loan, the Mexican hitman is the only out and out striker available to Santo for the remainder of the season.

Diogo Jota and Adama Traore played up front against the Shrews last time, but it meant that Wolves lacked a focal point up front until Jimenez was introduced from the bench, pulling a goal back 15 minutes from time to make it 2-1.

Jimenez is on hot form at the minute and cannot be left out again – Wolves are so comfortable in the league at the moment that they can rotate there and give the cup a real crack.
