Wolverhampton Wanderers have secured a seventh-placed finish this season, which will mean European football next year if Watford lose to Manchester City in the FA Cup.

They have had an incredible campaign on their return to the top flight and manager Nuno Espirito Santo has been at the helm steering the ship.

There have been standout players such as Joao Moutinho and Raul Jimenez stealing the headlines, but there are some underrated gems at Molineux too.

Leander Dendoncker moved to Wolves on loan from Anderlecht at the beginning of the season, which will become a permanent switch in the summer (official website).

The 24-year-old struggled to force his way into the side in the early stages, but his patience has been rewarded and he’s now a key player in the XI.

He’s a defensive midfielder that breaks up play and is tenacious in the centre of the park, but also composed on the ball too.

Dendoncker is definitely one of the underrated stars that has been driving Wolves forward and he has an eye catching win ratio.

The West Midlands club have a 56 per cent win ratio in the 25 games he’s featured in across all competitions this season.

In contrast, the team have only a 35 per cent win ratio in the 20 matches he’s missed out on.

The Belgium international has become essential to a Wolves team that play with high intensity and appears to be going from strength.
