Some Wolves fans blown away by Max Kilman in Liverpool defeat

Wolves were beaten 1-0 by Liverpool at Anfield yesterday in a game that could have swung in either direction. 

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men were the better side for large parts of the contest and but for VAR might have left with something for their efforts.

Sadio Mane’s goal secured victory for Liverpool and sent them 13 points clear at the summit of the Premier League.

Having only played Manchester City on Friday, Santo was forced to ring the changes.

One surprise piece of team news saw young defender Max Kilman come in for his second league start of the 2019/20 campaign.

The 22-year-old was playing non-league football for Maidenhead United in 2018. Wolves took a chance on him and the rest, as they say, is history.

The central defender is clearly one for the future and has been trusted to start three Europa League contests this season.

Up against a desperately strong Liverpool attack, Kilman didn’t disappoint and fans were quick to praise his display.

Some Wolves supporters felt he was worth the Man of the Match accolade, despite Sky Sports choosing Trent Alexander-Arnold as the star man.
