Wolves came from behind to earn a share of the spoils with Manchester United in an entertaining contest at Molineux.
Anthony Martial opened the scoring in the first-half but Wolves’ response was emphatic. Ruben Neves scoring an early contender for goal of the season in the second period.
Paul Pogba had a penalty saved before the end by Rui Patricio, earning Wolves their second draw in succession.
The introduction of Adama Traore at half-time in place of Matt Doherty was telling. From the moment the former Middlesbrough man entered the fray, Wolves looked like a different side.
The impact he had was perhaps surprising. Since arriving from Middlesbrough for £18 million (BBC Sport) he hasn’t exactly become a fan favourite at the club.
This performance from the Spaniard was much more like the player that tempted Nuno Espirito Santo into parting with such a sum. He was probing, looked alert and gave Luke Shaw the runaround in the second-half.
Last season he netted one goal and registered three assists in 36 appearances for the club.
If he is to force his way into Santo’s regular plans then he needs to maintain the performance levels from last night.
Here is a selection of tweets from Wolves supporters regarding the performance of Traore:
Adama made an immediate impact on the game.
He injected a bit of drive and penetration, sorely missing in first half, into the team. 🧡🖤

Totally agree, Traore was the difference in second half and helped Wolves to be the better team

Must start. He is unplayable , yes he's final decision is questionable put his outright pace gets us up the field. Take that over anything

Adama Traore my god the man is an absolute tank!

The introduction of Adama changed the impetus completely – arguably his best performance to date. Luke Shaw must hate visiting WV1, first Jota now Traore. On an upside he looked two stone lighter after being turned inside out for 45 minutes #wwfc

Traore changed the game for us last night just think Vinagre needs to start on left for more attacking threat and pace, I love Jony but for me no threat or creativity going forward, well done lads#wolvesayewe ⚽️🐺

Fair result overall, United were better first half but we definitely more ourselves 2nd half. Traore best performance in a Wolves shirt, and another beauty from Neves 👌 onto Burnley 👍🐺⚽️ #WOLMUN
