Wolves manager Bruno Lage has hailed the impact of Tottenham head coach Nuno Espirito Santo.
What’s the story?
The former Benfica man replaced Nuno after his departure from Molineux Stadium at the end of last season.
The Spurs figure’s departure proved a bit of a shock having only signed a three-year extension in September 2020.
However, Lage is very complimentary towards the Midlanders’ former boss, who he claims did an ‘amazing’ job.
The former Porto man spent four years with Wolves, where he took them from the Championship to the Europa League quarter-finals.
When talking about Nuno, Lage told Sky Sports: “What Nuno did in the last three or four years, a lot of success, was amazing. Now, it is a new cycle.”

Nuno was the centre of Wolves success amid praise from Lage
Nuno was the centre of Wolves success during his time at the club amid praise from Lage.
The figure brought a rigid style of play which made the Midlands outfit extremely difficult to beat.
His managerial style helped take the club from the second tier to European football. And whilst their place wasn’t maintained over a long period, it’s a sign of how well the 45-year-old did.
The success also heaps mass amounts of pressure on Lage as he looks to succeed.
Meanwhile, Tottenham have been told to consider a player from Wolves.
