Wolves learn valuation of reported transfer target from Liverpool

Wolverhampton Wanderers will have to pay at least £8 million to sign Liverpool youngster Rafael Camacho this summer, say A Bola.

The Black Country club have recently been linked with a move for the Portuguese youth international, who has made only a couple of appearances for the Reds’ first-team this term.

Interestingly, one of those appearances came against Wolves in the FA Cup earlier this year when he had to play out of position as a right-back.

Speculation has been rife that Camacho – also a target for Sporting CP and RB Leipzig – will leave at the end of the season after he supposedly rejected an offer of a new contract (The Sun).

He also made a somewhat cryptic Instagram post that appeared to take a dig at Jurgen Klopp and his coaches, although he uploaded another post to set the record straight.

TBR’s view

Camacho is a very talented young player, and £8 million would not be a fortune.

Obviously he hasn’t featured too many times for the Reds first-team, but £8 million would be paying for his potential which is high.

Certainly in today’s market, it is not a massive amount of money.

Wolves have a growing contingent of Portuguese players at Molineux, most of whom have done rather well for the club and Camacho could be another smart investment by the ambitious Midlands club.
