Wolves goalkeeper Will Norris has joined League One outfit Ipswich Town on loan for the season, as confirmed by the Tractor Boys’ official website.
The 25-year-old finds himself behind Rui Patricio and John Ruddy in the Old Gold pecking order and despite touring with the club in China this summer, has made a temporary exit.
He said: “Ipswich is a massive club and this is a good opportunity for me. When my agent told me about the interest it was an easy decision to come here. I don’t know any of the lads but this is where I wanted to sign.”
And Norris also took to his official Twitter account to express how pleased he was to have joined Ipswich, stating, “Buzzing to sign for Ipswich Town for the season. Can’t wait to see what this next step brings.”
It makes sense for Norris to go out in search of gametime, because at 25, he is no longer a kid and needs to playing regularly in order to progress.
Whether he can progress quickly enough to make the grade at a club as ambitious as this modern Wolves remains to be seen, but Norris is better served at Ipswich than being third choice at Molineux for a season.
