Wolves fans want Daniel Podence to start against Espanyol

Wolverhampton Wanderers host Espanyol on Thursday night in the Europa League – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have claimed they would like to see Daniel Podence get a chance in the team.

Wolves are preparing to face their La Liga opposition at Molineux in the first leg of their Europa League Round of 32 tie.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will travel to Spain a week later for the return leg, while there is also a Premier League fixture at home to Norwich City on Sunday sandwiched in-between.

The West Midlands club are looking to make the most of their European season and they finished second in their group with 13 points.

A selection of Wolves supporters on social media have suggested that Podence should get an opportunity to show his ability on Thursday.

The 24-year-old attacker only joined the club back in January from Olympiacos and he’s yet to really make his impression, but his chances have been limited due to the stiff competition within the squad.

He’s been given two late cameo appearances from the bench in the Premier League, but is a Portuguese winger with great potential and he cost £16.6million (BBC) to sign.
