Wolves fans rip into ‘passenger’ Morgan Gibbs-White after Huddersfield defeat

Wolverhampton Wanderers suffered a defeat to Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night – and many of the club’s supporters annihilated Morgan Gibbs-White for his performance.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were beaten 1-0 away by Huddersfield, who are bottom of the Premier League table but have beaten them twice this season.

It was a below par display from Wolves on their travels, as Steven Mounie scored a 91st minute goal to earn a late win for the hosts.

The West Midlands club are in the hunt for a European finish this campaign and are eighth in the table, but missed a huge opportunity in midweek.

They were unable to get their attacking football flowing and have for some reason found it more difficult at times this season against teams in the lower end of the table.

Many Wolves fans on social media singled out Gibbs-White for his display and believe he made no contribution in the match.

The 19-year-old midfielder wasn’t introduced to the action until the second-half, but there was very little goal threat from him when he stepped onto the pitch.

He is a highly-rated talent to come out of the academy at Molineux and manager Nuno has used him regularly this season off the bench, but his form has nosedived in 2019 after a bright start to life in the Premier League.

Some Wolves fans were critical of his performance against Huddersfield, with one suggesting he could do with a loan exit next season.
