Wolves fans rip into Morgan Gibbs-White for European performance

Wolverhampton Wanderers recorded a 2-1 away victory against Slovan Bratislava on Thursday evening – but some of the club’s supporters on Twitter were still highly critical of Morgan Gibbs-White for his performance.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side recorded three points to move up to second in Group K of the Europa League.

The West Midlands club found themselves behind at half-time, as Andraz Sporar’s deflected shot had put the Slovakian hosts in front.

But Romain Saiss saw the teams draw level early in the second-half and shortly after Raul Jimenez completed the turnaround from the penalty spot.

Wolves did have attacker Diogo Jota sent off late on for a second booking, but they managed to hold on for another victory in Europe.

A selection of Wolves supporters on social media were left raging at Gibbs-White despite seeing their team win on the road.

The teenage midfielder lasted 59 minutes before he was substituted off by Nuno and endured a difficult performance.

He struggled to make an impact on the contest and the 19-year-old also fluffed his lines when presented with a great goalscoring opportunity that he fired straight at the goalkeeper.

The playmaker has come through the club’s academy at Molineux and has been given chances to try impress in the senior squad by Nuno, but his levels have dipped considerably this campaign.
